Uli: Mark, everything has its time and place, and at
this time, this list is the place for licence
discussions.

Alain: Yup!

Uli: I think having an FAQ is a great idea.

Alain: Indeed!

Uli: I don't have much time at hand to do something
like this ... I can hardly keep working on my stuff
and keep current on the messages on this list.

Alain: I know how that feels!

Uli: While basically a good idea, a community clerk
would need to have his competences clearly outlined.
The community clerk should be the one to usually
organize votes, but others should be allowed to
override the clerk and also call for votes. Else, the
clerk could hold up progress, or even turn into sort
of a dictator.

Alain: Absolutely!

Uli: My natural choice for community clerk would've
been Alain ..

Alain: Thank you for the nomination, Uli. :)

Uli: ...but I gather he's pretty busy right now, so if
Alain doesn't want to assume this role, I'm fine with
having Mark do it if the others are.

Alain: My Masters degree defense is finally over. I
should have some free time now, until the next
contract comes along (several week from now). A window
of opportunity i guess you could say.

Uli: Still, Alain being our community-guy, it's only
natural to ask him first.

Alain: Thanks again, Uli. It's nice to feel
appreciated.

Uli: As for voting systems, I think percentage is good
since it gives a much clearer picture of opinion. But
we have to intelligently evaluate votes. If a topic
gets the majority because everyone gave it 20%, we
should only see it as the lowest common denominator.

Alain: I agree.

Uli: So, I think we should do mere polls most of the
time, limiting actual votes to business decisions and
to finalizing decisions that have already been
confirmed by polls.

Alain: Are you saying that just to please me? ;-)

Alain: We are on the same wavelenght, Uli.

Oooohhhhhmmmm!
