Alain: Why are you both assuming that i was talking
about bookmarks?? I was indeed talking about search
paths. Anthony was suggesting that my approach of
having OpenKard manage the search paths internally
would make the Applications, Documents and Stacks
non-accessible to the user for customization. In
response, i suggested some new OpenTalk syntax that
would allow the user to customize search paths,
despite the fact that they are handled internally.
This new OpenTalk syntax was inspired from
AppleScript's favorites feature, but my spin has
nothing to do with MacOS favorites or with Web
bookmarks.

Alain: I have scripted HyperTalk in French in my time,
so here is how it works: The English menus and
menuItems are always available to a script, despite
the fact that they may not be present in your French
menubar. French menuItems are converted to their
English equivalents by HC's Translator Interface
BEFORE they are interpreted by HyperCard. Same goes
for anything typed into the message box. You activate
all of this by setting the language property of
HyperCard to the name of a WTRN resource. In my case,
the WTRN resource's name was "French" and it mainly
contained English<-->French string substitutions.
