STOP!!!
Not the way Alain does it, please. At least prepend ">" before them, too.
If a person replies to a message and quotes text where another quoted him,
current and quoted comments can be mixed up. E.g. in "old-style" quoting:
>>>I really hate root beer
>>Why? Kevin Calhoun likes it
>I admit it's not that bad
Changed your opinion, eh?
Would be
Steve: I really hate root beer
John: Why? Kevin Calhoun likes it
Steve: I admit it's not that bad
John: Changed your opinion, eh?
Which can dramatically change context and also makes reading harder,
because you'll never know whether the text you're reading is a quote or an
actual comment. So, let's combine both styles, ok?
>>>Steve: I really hate root beer
>>John: Why? Kevin Calhoun likes it
>Steve: I admit it's not that bad
John: Changed your opinion, eh?
I said it back then already, but I guess it got lost so I'll dedicate a
whole post to it.
Cheers,
