DeRobertis: Uli and I do note the lack of compliance
in compilers, and while it does stop us from fully
using certain things, such as templates, it does not
stop of from making the rest of the program compliant
to the standard -- or as best as possible. We don't
use NULL as a place for a quick temp, although on
MacOS we could get away with it. We don't depend on
the size of a long or a int or a short (or at least
try not to). Why? Because we have no guarantee that it
will work everywhere; in fact, I can name systems
where all of those assumptions will break.

Alain: This is interesting information. May we include
this information in the FreeCard web-site ? Say in the
web-page that is meant to describe the FC interpreter,
its current state, and where it is going.

DeRobertis: [I know the old interpreter was pretty bad
-- the new one will be much better]

Alain: No pressure intended, but your above comment
begs the question: When do you believe that this much
better version will be available for testing? Do you
have any idea? A ball-park estimate would be fine.
