Anthony: Huh? Moving it around -- especially after
people start to know about the site, bookmark to it,
etc.

Alain: With the same line of argumentation, I could
argue that we should move sooner than later. How many
are we now? How many will we be several months from
now? Hopefully a lot more than now, eh! Postponing the
move until later will only make the move more painful
because a larger number of people will be disrupted
later.

Anthony: -- would be a major PITA.

Alain: What does this move entail for you, Anthony. In
what way is it a PITA? We only have the mere
beginnings of a web site, a half-dozen FTP accounts,
and our mail is handled by MetaCard. Besides, I
thought that the CVS, bugTracking and such would
appeal to you.

Anthony: We should make the right decision, not just
jump aboard because it looks cool. Perhaps there is
something better out there? Maybe someone who will
donate more than sourceforge does to us? Maybe there
is someone who will be more helpful.

Alain: Perhaps, but the sourceForge offer seems like a
pretty sweet offer. It's free. It's public. It's open
source.

Anthony: Sourceforge won't do some of the cool things
we wanted.

Alain: For instance?

Anthony: Will someone else?

Alain: I am not showing FC the door, but I would like
us to be clear as to why it is more advantageous to be
hosted by me than by a recognized public host. And,
more important still, is the fact that I cannot
guarantee that my ISP privileges won't suddenly
dissolve.

Anthony: Maybe some ISP would even donate resources to
help an OS project (no doubt for the good PR, but
still a good deal for us).

Alain: Anything is possible. The 'good PR' part would
probably translate into some online advertising, or
something like that.
