<< Thema: Re: [OCF] Card Terminal behaviour when SW1=0x6c >>
Hi Thomas,
ISO 7816 reserves a set of status words for T=0 protocol
which makes them definitly unusable for general card programming ,
purposes i.e. for signalling any card state being different from those
indicated by the standard.
Naturally, a CardService must check for status words - but only to
identify the success of the operation initiated (SW = 0x90 0x??)
or it's failure (SW != 0x90 ??). To run really protocol independent,
which is a MUST if you think about terminals which are doing an
automatic and transparent protocol translation that cannot be
identified by the service, no further transport protocol related
transitions should be made by the service.
To cope with errors originating from the card's transport manager,
(Invalid GetResponse-Ansewer, as you mentioned), a good OCF cardTerminal
implemenation offers an intelligent logging facility for transport
layer data exchange.
Best regards.
