i'm reading in the FAQ 
Question:What platforms does OCF support ?

Answer: Basically any platform that is capable of running JAVA can exploit OCF right away. OCF is currently
available on different platforms. The platforms that were used for development, testing and demos so far are WinNT, Win95, Linux, IBM AIX and several Network Computers. There is work underway from other companies.

and yet in the reference implementation there's native code (dll's). i'm confused. which is it? i'd appreciate if someone could explain this to me. thanks,
