Hi,

you do not necessarily need javax.comm to run OCF. OCF for Embedded Devices (see
http://www.alphaworks.ibm.com/tech/ocf4embedded) needs a CardTerminal class that
complies to the specified Interface, but ithis CardTerminal implementation may
use other ways than javax.comm to communicate with the reader. If you have a way
to send commands to the reader and receive the responses, it is sufficient.

Best regards,

Thomas

Subject: [OCF] Project to Port OCF to Palm O/s

Hi,

I have a dream :- To port the OCF to the Palm O/s. Are there any of you guys
out there who share
this dream ? If so please e-mail me privately and lets exchange notes. My
e-mail is [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I have just started with the Palm O/s, and it seems that the biggest hitch
in porting the OCF is that
there is no support for the javax.comm std extention on the KVM.

Regards and sorry if this is off topic.
Shahed.
