Marc,

This really sounds interesting for the smart card developers out there.
Imagine, my case, I bought a package of card GemXpresso 211 PK card from Gemplus
hoping that I could start development of Javacard using the same but I was surprised
to know that there is no available CardServices for that card that I can download for
free (just like in the GPK8000 card services) but that I have to purchase the RAD
development kit. For me this is absurd because whenever the user has bought a
hardware, usually, the software driver is packaged alongside it. Afterall the product
will be a useless plastic card without its drivers. But there we go... I don't want to
question their proprietary interest, afterall.

You are right to the $699 is not a fortune, in your standards. But to us in
the South East, where the exchange rate peg to more than 53 to $1 that is a huge sum
of money already!!! So to think that I will be able to purchase that RAD kit, I must
be dreaming at this point in time. Since this forum pushes OCF, then your idea of
DynamicCardServiceFactory is the answer for me. Meanwhile I do not have to cut there
darn GemXpresso cards into pieces until I got nto my hand a beta release of your
project.

        God speed man!!!!

Regards,
