This is exactly the kind of problem our DCSF project is intended to 
solve... it would download the correct card service factory 
automatically, if it could recognise the card and has info for it.

If you are interested in trying it out, please get in touch. We will be 
releasing a public version soon, but we need to add support for more 
cards. Currently only 1.11 and 2.2 iButtons are supported because we have 
not had other cards/documentation from vendors yet. Cyberflex Access 16KB 
is 99% done but we have not had correct docs from SLB yet so cannot 
proceed with that at this time. We are hoping to get some samples of 
Gemplus cards soon so that we can add comprehensive support for them.
