Hi,
Pre-requisities
1. Decide on what sort of smart card you would be using, a Javacard,
Multoscard or any other card
Hardware
1. The smart card reader I had used was GCR 410 from Gemplus. I do not
have much idea about other readers.
2. If you are settling on Javacard contact Gemplus dealer locally and
procure those. He would also give you the necessary drivers and a
installation guide.
Software
1. Download OCFInstall.class from www.opencard.org and install it. This
would help you to send commands to the card reader.
That it. You are done.
Hope this helps

Subject: [OCF] hardware software
requirements

Hi All,
I am going to work on smart card integration with web centric applications.
The scenario is that I want to connect a card reader with a PC. I will
access my web server application on this PC through web browser ( IE or
Netscape). If a user inserts his card in the reader, this information
should
go to my web application for authentication and autherisation.
Please guide me what all hardware and software I need to buy. And what
should be the correct approach.
I learned that I should use OCF with a card reader ( for example Gemplus
GcrPC 410). In that case I need to buy a card reader, a pack of cards and a
software to install card reader. Please correct me if I am wrong or if you
can suggest me something better.
your information will be very much valuable for me.
thanks,
Rachna
