Do I recall correctly that EXA is currently disabled in openchrome due
to glyph rendering errors?

In the end that X server bug might be solved. But in order to maintain
good cairo performance, openchrome should implement accelerated
composite solid pictures.

I have implemented that in the chrome driver with:

The same thing can probably be applied to openchrome without much effort.
