Looks like the problem is only present with 32-bit userspace and 64-bit
kernel. When the kernel is recompiled for i686, X works...

Except for the mouse cursor (completely invisible) and no 2D acceleration.
The hardware cursor should work. Maybe this is an issue specific to the
K8M890. You can probably workaround this issue with Option "SWCursor".
Please file a bug for this one too.
No acceleration with KMS is expected.
