Hi all, I need some more information about the status of LVDS panel support of the driver.
I own a VIA EPIA SP8000E mainboard, which has CN400-based graphics. I am considering to buy a notebook TFT panel, and use it as a secondary display. (The SP8000E supports LVDS panels via the VIA VT1631L-based VIA LVDS-06 daughter board, which I would also need to buy.) Would this work? Can I run X (with the OpenChrome driver) using both the usual VGA output and on the LVDS output simultaneously? The wiki at http://wiki.openchrome.org/tikiwiki/tiki-index.php?page=HardwareCaveats says that on cn400, panel support "needs VBE", and dual head is not implemented. Is what I want considered dual-head? * * * If it is impossible to realize my original plan, could someone please suggest me a way to achieve something similar? I have the following requirements: - The monitor/display panel itself should be as thin as possible. (This rules out must normal LCD/TFT monitors.) - I want do drive the monitor/display panel - either from a nearby EPIA mainboard (simultaneously with its main display), - or via a USB device, - or via standard D-Sub or DVI connector. - The whole thing should not be too costy. Do you have any idea how to do this? Thank you for your help: Kristof Csillag _______________________________________________ openchrome-users mailing list [email protected] http://wiki.openchrome.org/mailman/listinfo/openchrome-users Main page: http://www.openchrome.org Wiki: http://wiki.openchrome.org User Forum: http://wiki.openchrome.org/tikiwiki/tiki-view_forum.php?forumId=1
