Hi, I've been toying around with the development version of ubuntu on my laptop with a K8M800 and ran into some problems.
With their 2.6.26 kernel Xorg starts running with 100% cpu usage as soon as I move the cursor, a minute later the machine hangs. Oddly enough this doesn't happen at a display manager prompt, at least not with the ones I've tried.. With the hardy 2.6.24 kernel most gtk apps seem to hit an assert and segfault when they open a dialog or menu. This is the message they print: (gimp:5262): Gdk-CRITICAL **: get_monitor: assertion `monitor_num < screen_x11-> n_monitors' failed Both issues don't happen with the vesa driver. I've tried trunk and the version of openchrome that comes with ubuntu. Xorg version is 1.4.99.905. I would have tried unichrome too but that doesn't seem to build against that version. I'm mostly curious if openchrome is supposed to work with a that kind of system. stefan _______________________________________________ openchrome-users mailing list [email protected] http://wiki.openchrome.org/mailman/listinfo/openchrome-users Main page: http://www.openchrome.org Wiki: http://wiki.openchrome.org User Forum: http://wiki.openchrome.org/tikiwiki/tiki-view_forum.php?forumId=1
