Thank you very much for explaining that what I was seeing has some
basis.

With that insight and having got CN700 working in both xine and mythtv I
can see that a CN700 board is viable for all my intended SD needs.

I'll get over having had CN400 successfully decoding 1080i mpeg2 with
openchrome.  It is just an academic exercise as there is never going to
be much HD media in mpeg2 format.  As I understand it, the CN400 mpeg4
assistance is only for h263, so it is irrelevant also.

Therefore I am happy to start using CN700 boards.
