Ubuntu 12.04 is too old, and unsupported. Even 14.04 is almost too old, and causes problems. You really need to get something newer.
Canonical stopped supporting 12.04 two and a half years ago. It will stop supporting 14.04 this spring, on it's 5-year anniversary.
