Howdy,

Over the last 6 months, we have been working on a pluggables interop test
plan that demonstrates interoperability between OCP devices and non-OCP
hardware and software. We held our first plugfest in Feburary to flush out
our test plan with 6 players across the spectrum: Accton, Amphenol, Avago,
Big Switch, Cumulus, and Finisar at UNH-IOL. We have since continued to
refine the test plan and hold another plugfest in June (15-19) at UNH-IOL
to validate these changes.

Based on the outcome of the June plugfest, we will determine when we will
launch the interop compliance program for cables and optics this year. To
put a date around it, we are talking about end of August / middle of
September as a go-live date. The exact date will be known after the June
plugfest. We are asking for both hardware (switches and pluggables) and
software (NOSes) vendors to participate in June's plugfest to ensure we
stay on track with our deadlines and to provide Open Networking consumers
all the the confidence they need for adoption. By launching the program no
later than September, we have 3 months to gather the initial set of data
which will feed into another program we are working on: Consumer Reports
for Open Networking.

This data system will allow consumers the ability to check which devices
are compatible with which cables/optics running a designated NOS with all
tests reports available freely. This is unheard of in the industry and we
want to be the first to offer this information for consumers.

To participate in the plugfest, you can register at:
