Hello Everyone,

At the last OCP call on June 8th we briefly introduced a SAI development environment. Today in continuation of our efforts to enable the networking community to develop and test SAI based applications, we have open sourced a P4 switch with Switch Abstraction Interface(SAI)support. Here are some highlights of the open sourced code.

_switch.p4 <https://github.com/p4lang/p4factory/tree/master/targets/switch>:_ Open pipeline description for a fully functional L2/L3 switch. Full P4 source code and the ability to generate soft switch with this pipeline.

_SAI Support on switch.p4 <https://github.com/p4lang/switchsai>:_
Open source (.h/.c) code implementing support for SAI(v0.9.2) on switch.p4 pipeline. Full source code with complete visibility in to all layers of software between SAI APIs and the underlying pipeline, including the pipeline itself.

Please check the following link for more details on this code, documentation, etc.: An Open source P4 switch with SAI support <http://mail.p4.org/pipermail/p4-announce_p4.org/2015/000011.html>

Thanks,
Prem Jonnalagadda
