Howdy, As some of y'all may know, at the Oct 9 engineering workshop in Boston ( http://opencompute.org/wiki/Networking/Workshop-2015-09), we talked about the Interop program we started along with it's roadmap for 2016 and the 'industry interop' effort we plan on kicking off in January.
Since we are about a month out from both of these efforts picking up after the holidays, I wanted to put a call out for those that would like to participate in either one of these efforts. Optics Interop: Continue with existing program ( http://www.opencompute.org/wiki/Networking/SpecsAndDesigns#Pluggable_Transceiver_and_Host_Compliance_and_Interopability_Test_Plan) and add the following tests: * LR - Spring 2016 * Single Mode fiber - Spring 2016 * 100GB - Spring 2016 * Add Servers as nodes - Mid 2016 * Add Campus (copper) devices - Mid 2016 Industry Interop: Starting with compliant configurations from the Optics Interop program (Integrator's List: https://www.iol.unh.edu/registry/opennetworking) * L1 and protocol interop between open networking and traditional vendors * Solution guides for both green and brown field deployments * expected go-live date, Fall 2016 Both of these efforts will resume/start in January, operate on a weekly/bi-weekly cadence (depending on each group's progress), and have a dry-run or two to ensure the plans we come up with, actually work If anyone is interested in participating in either one of these efforts, please reply to me stating which effort you would like to participate in. Thanks. +--+ Carlos
