Hi all, Thanks for bringing this up. We are currently discussing different options with Broadcom, so hopefully there will be binaries available for the platform soon.
Best regards, Luis From: opencompute-networking [mailto:opencompute-networking-boun...@lists.opencompute.org] On Behalf Of Steven Noble Sent: Wednesday, October 19, 2016 5:48 PM To: Carlos Cardenas <car...@cumulusnetworks.com> Cc: opencompute-networking@lists.opencompute.org Subject: Re: [Opencompute-networking] Looking for official Wedge 100 OpenNSL Hi Carlos, That will only work for going forwards, for FBOSS you have to go backwards to 6.4.6.6, so I believe it would need to be done by the supplier (Accton) and would still be in a package. Carlos Cardenas<mailto:car...@cumulusnetworks.com> October 19, 2016 at 9:40 AM I would suggest y'all contact Broadcom directly to add Wedg100 to their OpenNSL repos. That is how their model works (unless you have their SDK). +--+ Carlos Luke Williams<mailto:luke.willi...@canonical.com> October 19, 2016 at 9:36 AM You back ported the Wedge 100 to this branch: commit 8e0b499f That is the one that the Facebook FBOSS git points to. Do you have a git that has this branch I can pull from for my build? -- Thanks, Luke Williams - Technical Partner Manager, Network Switches and Ubuntu-Core luke.willi...@canonical.com<mailto:luke.willi...@canonical.com> www.canonical.com<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.canonical.com&d=DQMDaQ&c=5VD0RTtNlTh3ycd41b3MUw&r=i8c1XOsbULQg4wxarudoiw&m=7vc9ErGWrZYEEHjb1-YuNiSmLEPshtOpOJP1lfJFp0Y&s=7dJJMf_xxahlXyk9ZhzrR6_ynXVaoddq9vuaX0UIKx0&e=> || www.ubuntu.com<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__www.ubuntu.com&d=DQMDaQ&c=5VD0RTtNlTh3ycd41b3MUw&r=i8c1XOsbULQg4wxarudoiw&m=7vc9ErGWrZYEEHjb1-YuNiSmLEPshtOpOJP1lfJFp0Y&s=hbPsgSYgrCskXkN0Z3NmGB1jrjO0I0zJ2dOBGL-rtv0&e=> Steven Noble<mailto:sno...@sonn.com> October 19, 2016 at 8:42 AM Hi David, To be more clear, you are looking for OpenNSL 6.4.6.6 with Wedge 100 support. I have done a back port so the OpenNSL 6.4.6.6 binaries are available for ONL to run FBOSS on the Wedge 100. FYI, I do not believe you can include the binaries in your build unless you have a SLA that states you can distribute OpenNSL so you would need to have the system pull the package from our repository when they install. David Duffey<mailto:david.duf...@canonical.com> October 19, 2016 at 8:10 AM We're excited about the Wedge 100 (https://code.facebook.com/posts/1802489260027439) announcement and in MAAS 2.1 we've added the ability to power manage the Wedge's BMC (works with both of Facebook's Wedge 40 and 100) and UEFI+PXE boot and ONIE install Ubuntu and Ubuntu Core an initial beta image. We are working on providing an update from the prior FBOSS snap on Ubuntu Core 15 for the Wedge 40 (http://people.canonical.com/~dduffey/files/OCP/snappy-onie-15.04-wedge/<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__people.canonical.com_-257Edduffey_files_OCP_snappy-2Donie-2D15.04-2Dwedge_&d=DQMDaQ&c=5VD0RTtNlTh3ycd41b3MUw&r=i8c1XOsbULQg4wxarudoiw&m=7vc9ErGWrZYEEHjb1-YuNiSmLEPshtOpOJP1lfJFp0Y&s=WuJhbUuAan69--39Z4RB3oujBTvMw700_BhF2CjvT9o&e=>) for Ubuntu Core 16 and the Wedge 100. While the Broadcom OpenNSL git had the bits for the the Wedge 40 (https://github.com/Broadcom-Switch/OpenNSL), we don't yet see them for the Wedge 100. In order to make the Wedge 100 work we had to use an OpenNSL library from another tomahawk based switch, but now would like to use a clean/official build and release that is intended for the Wedge 100. Is there an ETA on when an updated OpenNSL w/ Wedge 100 support will be available on the OpenNSL repo, or is there another repo we should/could be using?
