*Just Announced! Open Compute Project (OCP) Telecomm Workshop at the Big
Communications Event, May 14, 2018 in Austin, Texas.Session Moderators: *
*- Bill Carter*, CTO, Open Compute Project Foundation
*- Tom Anschutz*, OCP Telco Group Incubation Committee Lead, Distinguished
Member of Tech Staff at AT&T

This workshop will cover several ongoing work steams from both the Telco
and Networking Projects. We will discuss updates on open specifications for
GPON, OLT, and Universal Customer Premise Equipment (uCPE), a project
coordinated with the Telecom Infra Project. Information on the recently
released OCP Mezzanine 3.0 specification will also be shared in detail.
Prior generations of this spec are widely accepted and implemented across
the industry and will provide useful IO options for both Edge and Cloud
devices. As open hardware is being deployed from mega data centers to the
edge, this session will share TCO benefits of hyperscale-driven designs,
multi-sourcing, and open collaboration.
