Are you seeing a problem somewhere?
No -- I vaguely recall having found a problem in a Gedankenexperiment,
but I cannot remember what it was. Glad to hear that this is not yet
another complicating factor in DNS :)
Perhaps you were thinking of the old case where .net and
root-servers.net were served by the same NS RRset, and
bind made the wrong decision on whether to serve the DS (as parent)
or the "you're asking the wrong location" response (as child)
