I'm in production with an older stable version for the next
couple weeks. I do get disconnects from server regularly 
with some nets, so I have to "baby sit" those animation
jobs. Other times, things run fine. May be the memory problem
you describe, may be some module of mine. I downloaded 
my version of DX several months ago. I keep meaning to
run it through purify, but no time yet, at least
for a couple weeks.

With Purify, you probably need to compile everything,
especially the program "main". Just compiling or linking
a few routines will not work (I've tried this
with modules).
