If we want to add machines, can we set them up to update and send
results at odd intervals. For example, I don't leave my stations up
and running all the time (they heat the office way too much). But
when I do fire them up 2-3 times a week, I would be willing to have
it report a build.
David
We've put together a build result url at:
http://opendx.watson.ibm.com/dx/buildResult.html
which is (of course) reachable from:
http://www.research.ibm.com/dx
and
http://www.opendx.org (Dave ... Please add a link)
We've created a perl script (build.pl) to automate the build process and
report results. The script is customized for each build platform by adding
a unique identifier (e.g. "updated-cvs-opendx-on-AIX432-with-xlc-compiler"
) and making any necessary local modifications.
The procedure is then:
build.pl runs the standard build procedure (cvs checkout, aclocal,
autoconf, ...) from the build platform.
build.pl emails the results to a server (opendx.watson.ibm.com)
opendx.watson.ibm.com converts the results to html and updates (or
inserts) this html for the unique identifier
We currently have three build platforms (unique ids) running nightly cron
builds and would like to add more.
Please send me email if are willing to run the script from your machine(s)
for posting build results (nightly or otherwise).
Of course, any feedback is appreciated.
