David, No, dead silence from "wizards". I did a grep -i version in the IM source magick directory and didn't see anything promising, hence the plea to the IM list. Thanks for the suggestion though, I'll look into it. I have changes to bring opendx up to image magick 5.2, however it still has some problems. Probably, I haven't chased down the last api change that's too subtle for the compiler to complain (address of structure versus address of pointer?) I'll check it in when it works, no use breaking all versions! Regards, Pete
