OK, probably better I should upgrade to 4.1.1. (:-)
The workaround (for me in the meantime) was simply to promote the ints to
floats (actually I multiplied by 1.0, but I'll try the cast as well).

Like I said, it used to work in 3.1.4 so maybe it was some weird in-between
thing. "She turned me into a newt... but I got better."
