I think that once people understand how DXMODULES/DXMDF can be used to
temporarily load a custom package, they might be more willing to try and
test new things. If there's sufficient demand down the road, a tried and
true new module of generic capability (like Scatter2Grid sounds, in
contrast to say Richard's very cool but largely discipline specific
chemistry modules--with notable exceptions like FancyRibbon and some
others) could be rolled into the main mdf.

There is one annoyance about DXMDF vs DXMACROS and that is you can only
have one mdf, not a group of my1.mdf:my2.mdf:my3.mdf, etc. So playing with
several add-on packages at once is problematic. Maybe the effort should go
to creating a simple to use libmaker or something like that (or is there
one already) that would bundle custom selected module codes into a
loadablelib. I just looked back at the makefile to make a loadablelib and
it's ugly. I'd like a tool that I could submit a simple list of desired
modules to and press go and out pops a loadablelib and mdf for just that
subset.
