I just added code to make type ahead work better in the tools list of
the VPE. If you're looking for the Format module, place the mouse
over the tools list and begin typing "format", by the time you type
"form" you'll be there (that is assuming its in the category you have
selected). The space bar will deselect the tools as well. Now for the
big questions:
1. How is the timing on the type-ahead? If you wait 2 seconds, then
you can begin selecting a new module--otherwise you are continuing
the search name. For example type "f" followed by "o" and "r" all
within 2 seconds of each other then you're looking for "for". Wait
more than two seconds after the "o" and pressing the "r" will take
you to the first "r" record. Should the time be shortened?
2. Would it be better to make type-ahead work independently of where
the mouse cursor is, or is it better that the mouse be over the tools
list?
3. Should this be added to the categories list (I say no because its
short anyway)?
Remember, if you're going to try this out, there is an updated header
file so recompiling just ToolSelector.C is not enough.
