I don't get core dumping with p > 1 in script mode. I can run in script mode manually with no problem with p > 1. It's only when I pass a script/net to the exec with p > 1 does the problem occur (i.e., with -program or via stdin).

I haven't tried AIX and don't see the "UI options" or UI exec hang problems
you do on SGI, but for a while there's been a problem with dx core dumping
in script mode with processors > 1 on SGI:

        > dx -script
        ...
        dx> quit

        0:  cleaning up and exiting
        Bus error (core dumped)

The core says it's in afree so the arena could be corrupt.  Might be the
same problem.  I've not tried to debug this.
