Okay,
I've got things building with libtool. I just want to make sure this
is a good time to make a big commit that is really going to change
some building. Also, it appears that we should stick with requiring
some updated auto gen tools. I tried building things with older tools
and had a real problem, so my suggestion is that we have a min CVS
build environment Automake 1.6, Autoconf 2.5, libtool?
With libtool on MacOS X, I needed to use the CVS version 1.4e (plus a
fix). But that really shouldn't matter until the next release--at
that point we can worry about which libtool to include.
