Well, those ideas had been discussed long ago. As with image manipulation,
the question of where do you draw the line for open-ended requirements,
avoiding reinventing the wheel, and platform dependency must be considered.
It seems to me to be easiest to do this external to DX given these issues.
That's why there is some discussion of how-tos in the documentation and in
the bonuspak (from 1996). Because some approaches (e.g., MPEG) require
manipulation of multiple frames simultaneously and some computational cost,
that certainly suggests a post-processing approach external to DX. I have
preferred doing this way because it gives more control to produce the type
of animations I require.

me to generate moviefile from OpenDX animation?

Hi,

I wonder whether it's along the lines of OpenDX philosophy to put a
Movie-tool on the wish-list or to-do-list ?

This tool should handle all the cumbersome possibilities suggested by
the replies to my earlier question on how to generate a movie file.

Likewise the Image-tool that can output in a number of image formats, it
would be great if the Movie-tool could output in a number of movie formats.

Just an idea.
Rob.
