I have run DX 4.2 on a number of RH8.0 systems -- not the binary download,
but built from the 4.2 tarball. I haven't seen that behavior. Could you
be more specific as to the problem, environment, version?

For no obvious reason, my OpenDX under Red Hat 8.0 just
quit working: failure to connect to server.
Nothing I know of has changed on the
system. This actually happened once before and the
started working again some days later.
(I've tried setting DXHOST to all kinds of things with no luck).
Anyone seen this type of thing before?
