Apply patches supplied by Marco Morandini. They're supposed to
match up the uses of {new,new[],malloc} and {delete,delete[],free}.
Although these patches are harmless, the good they do
is like a drop of water in the ocean. The way to address valgrind
warnings is through a valgrind config file.
