I did not say OpenGL (which is Extreme 3D). If you do not purchase OpenGL, then you will need to pay for MetroX. 3D lab cards will be supported in xfree86 4.0. the extreme 3d had been on their web pages as pre-release since a year and since last 3 years their url claims comming soon hardware accelerated opengl for linux??? I wonder when that "coming soon" will really come??? SGI GLX is now Open Source and I would not pay for it either. As a matter fact it is included for OpenDX for Windows as libGL.DLL Suhaib
