Normally when installs the Irix OpenDX binaries, the user gets a shared
memory segment error. I have been contacted from numerous people and I
tell them to set the DXSHMEM and DXMEMORY variables to 0 and 128. From
the responses I have gotten, that has fixed the problem. Until now.
A new user is still getting the error:
"Connection to server ammon failed":
Starting DX executive
Error during Initialization
connot get shared memory segment / failed on segment 1 of 1 needed
segments / last call to shmger returned errno 22 cannot initialize DX
library"
He is using an S.G. O2 and "ammon" is my computer which is served by
another computer using NIS; the later computer is where openDx and the
samples are located.
Anybody else have this problem and had to do something different?
