I have an update and some elaboration.  Opendx is currently running SMP on (at
least) aix, sgi, dec, and solaris. (if not in the binary version you have, then
with 4.0.10 just released).  No SMP on hp yet.  Briefly, dxexec looks for
multiple processors and by default uses 2 of 2 or half of n>2.  DX goes parallel
on spatial subdivisions of the data (you can use Partition to create them...
otherwise the visual program is unaltered).
