Hi,
I am a new user of Opendx and am trying to install it on my PC (Windows
NT). These are the steps I took:
1. Installed Exceed
2. Installed the opendx-4.0.6-part1.zip, opendx-4.0.6-part2.zip, and
opendx-4.0.6-part3.zip.
3. Modified the following OpenDX.bat file in c:\opendx\bin as follows:
@ECHO OFF
set TERM=ansi
SET CYGWIN=tty;binmode,ntea;
SET HOME=/
SET DISPLAY=127.0.0.1:0.0
SET
PATH=C:\OpenDX\dx;C:\OpenDX\dx\bin;C:\OpenDX\bin;C:\OpenDX\dx\bin_cygwin;C:\
OpenDX\dx\samples\data;%PATH%
SET DXROOT=C:\OpenDX\dx
SET DXDATA=C:\OpenDX\dx\samples\data
SET DXMODULES=C:\OpenDX\dx\bin_cygwin
SET DXMACROS=C:\OpenDX\bin\demoscan\macros
SET XkeysymDB=C:\OpenDX\bin\XkeysymDB
SET XerrorDB=C:\OpenDX\bin\XErrorDB
REM You can add command line options to dx such as -edit or -prompter
dx.exe
4. I opened an exceed window
5. Opened DOS window
6. Typed: cd c:\opendx\bin\demoscan
7. Typed: opendx
8. DX opens OK but when I try to open an existing program which has macros
in c:\opendx\bin\demoscan\macros it hangs up and I have to get out
ungracefully. Error message: cannot find macros ... in ....
unfortunately, the message window is not big enough for me to see where it
is trying to find the macros - at this point, I cannot resize window or
refresh windows, etc.
I would appreciate any help with this. I am also not very familiar with
the inner workings of windows NT - therefore, explicit instructions would
be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
