I have stacked a series of CT scans of a spinal segment and used
Isosurface to create a 3D structure. I would like to export the data to a
solid modeling package (IDEAS Master Series) for FEA. Has anyone
attempted something similar? The only way I can think of accomplishing
this is to write a program to convert the cubes in my DX file to brick
elements in IDEAS. IDEAS allows data to be saved in ASCII format, called
the Universal file. The problem I foresee is that I would have way too
many elements due to the number of cubes in the structure. The geometry
would also be distorted, since all the elements would be undistorted. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.
