Hi I would appreciate if you direct your querries to a proper mailing list.
For DX mailing list the info is available at http://www.opendx.org. For X11 related problems with Cygwin tools, the info for mailing list is available at http://sourceware.cygnus.com/cygwin/xfree > I am rather new to all this sort of stuff and have a problem with dx. I > have downloaded your software cygwin-xfree-x11r6_4-cygwin-B20_1_tar, > opendx-4_0_10-cygwin-v1_1_tar and opendx-4_0_10-docs_tar. You must be downloading using Netscape? That is why the file names are altered. The files are cygwin-xfree-x11r5.4-cygwin-b20.1.tar.bz2 and opendx-4.0.10-cygwin-v1.1.tar. You need X11R6 libraires for Cygwin version 1.1.? Please visit http://sourceware.cygnus.com/cygwin for info about Cygwin v 1.1 The X11R6.4 tools for Cygwin v 1.1. are at http://sourceware.cygnus.com/cygwin/xfree In addition you need an X-server for Win32. If you do not have an X-server installed, you cannot open GUI. OpenDX is an X application and would not work unless you have a commercial X-server (like XWin32 and Exceed) installed. Info about what X-server is can be found at http://www.rahul.net/kenton/xsites.framed.html Suhaib >When I try to > run dx a small icon appears in my lower windows menu bar for a second > and then disappears.
