Sorry, but this is rubbish. Xi Graphics has offended a great many people in the the XFree86 community with some of their statements (justified or not). Nevertheless the performance of many of their drivers is far better than what you'll get with XFree86 (it varies with the graphics card of course). I've got a Number 9 TTR IV that works quite well with their 3D OpenGL X-server and DX, and it was well worth the cost to me (I wouldn't recommend the #9 card any longer, BTW). They offer time-limited demos of their GL drivers, so you can compare the performance and decide for yourself if it's worth the cost in your situation. But the blanket statement that their drivers are no better than XFree86 4.0 is rubbish. Neil -- Neil N.
