This is a bug in ld.so and glibc 2.1.2 which was shipped with RedHat 6.1 and 6.2. Go to ftp://ftp.valinux.com/pub/mirrors/redhat/rawhide/ and download the latest ld.so and glibc 2.1.3 RPMs for your system, then upgrade to the latest release of those RPMS.
