Something seems to be not quite right with your RH 6.1. The bug you are reporting, is really not a OpenDX (DXexec) bug.
During developing several software, I had seen this bug. Most of the time it was traced back to bugs in glibc 2.1.0 and ld.so. 1.9 The other possibility could be OpenGL. Which OpenGL are you using? The SGI OpenGL RPMS from my URL http://siddiqi.webjump.com ? Which X-server are you using. It should not be an issue... I have OpenDX 4.1.0 runing on RedHat 6.1, 6.2 and RedHat 7.0 (Beta-1, btw are not public releases). The RedHat 6.1 had glibc 2.1 replaced by glibc-2.1.3 and lib.so 2.0 I really do not know what else to say, except, if a core file is generated, you try to debug it using gdb --core=core... But the crash message is very crlear that ld.so is crashing when attempting to load dynamic libraries. Anyone has any other suggestions to help him out, please???
