Hello, I had posted this last Friday, but it seems that it got lost somehow, so I try it again: My system is an IBM RS/6000 running AIX4.2. I have installed the most recent version of dx into a new directory /usr/local/DataExplorer4 and set dxroot and sample locations in bin/dx, dx/bin/dx and dx/bin/dxworker, respectively, and added the directory to the $PATH, all according to the README (I believe). dx indeed could be started, but when trying out the examples, I always get
Starting DX executive Could not load program /usr/local/DataExplorer4/dx/bin_ibm6000/dxexec Symbol vsnprintf in csh is undefined Symbol XShmQueryExtension in csh is undefined Symbol XShmCreateImage in csh is undefined Symbol XShmPutImage in csh is undefined Symbol XShmDetach in csh is undefined Symbol XShmAttach in csh is undefined Error was: Exec format error The Execute menu items are greyed out, and dx -execonly also fails. Does anybody know how this can be fixed? Or would it make sense to try to compile from the sources; but if so, would it make sense with a very old version of ImageMagick (3.6.3)? OTOH, on the website it was recommended not to compile with the most recent ImageMagick. Any helpful suggestions are most appreciated. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Thomas Ruedas Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics, J.W.Goethe University Frankfurt e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.geophysik.uni-frankfurt.de/~ruedas/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------
