|it appears I can't use [composite fields] to solve the problem (unless I
|regenerate the datasets, or write a custom loader -- what I'm trying to
|avoid). There are two reasons for this:

| 1) Composite fields presume that the edge positions and data are repeated
| in adjoining subfields, and
I should mention, I could redefine the grid so the data are cell centered
rather than point centered and satisfy this, but that'd gives square-block
topography when Rubbersheet'ed and I really don't want to take the hit for
a Post.
| 2) There's no way (that I could see) to generate a correct composite
| field from pre-partitioned individual fields with the standard DX
| modules.
I tried the Collect -> ChangeGroupType("compositefield") trick. Only the
first field appeared when rendered. I'm guessing this is the effect of the
missing meshoffset settings.
