This sounds like you have a problem with your hosts file. Do you have localhost defined as 127.0.0.1 within /etc/hosts. Then when you connect try localhost instead of the machine name and see if this helps fix it.

Hi-
I am new to this list and new to OpenDX as well. I downloaded the LinuxPPC rpm and installed it w/o a hitch. Then, I ran:

dx  -execonly &
dx -uionly &
dx &

And tried to start working through the tutorials. However, everytime, I get a timeout error. I can provide more specifics if necessary. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this. Thanks.
