I would expect to see something like 800000000 free at this point (right
after starting up), not a puny 23Mb. Something's definitely wrong with
either your build, your version, or your startup script. What OS and
platform and build version are you using? How do you start up? from a
command line or a script? in either case, let's see it. Again: if there a
-memory 26 or something like that in there, you are clamping DX's memory
use to 26Mb and it cannot allocate more. However, if you don't clamp it, it
will attempt to grab a large chunk of available memory at startup, so if
you really have 1Gb, you would expect to see about 800Mb being snarfed by
DX. So I think there's something wrong with your installation.
