This is a problem with your current X-Windows settings. You need to choose a different XWindows setup. We've seen this on occasion where X visuals are not created quite right due to the bit depth and haven't been able to track down the problem. The easy fix is to change the bit depth to 16 or 24.

You do not need to use mwm as you window manager.

Hi...
I just installed (last night) RH 7 and OpenMotif, and the same RPMs (OpenGL)
that you listed below. Afterwars I installed Open DX. It works but I have a
problem. When executing any program and opening an 'Image' window, the
'Image' window has got the pull down menus missing, just the title bar and
the graph. I wanted to rotate the image and use the zoom but it doesn't let
me do it since there isn't options menu in that window. I may vary the angle
and the camera settings by adding modifiers to the image tool and re-execute
the program but I can't do it 'live' anymore. But if I go to the Visual
Editor window and click twice on the image icon it will open a new empty
image window with the pulldown menus on it but not on the one that contains
the image.
I installed OpenMotif and added it to the list of windows managers and I in
the command line I start it with 'mwm &' as the manual says but not way!! I
also tryed to run opendx with gnome and it does the same, just the windows
are of different colors... more or less.

Does anybody know what I am doing wrong?

Thanks in advance.
