Well this seems to be exactly the kind of data grids we are using! Up
until now I only have downloaded dx, played a bit and found nothing
useful yet (compiling it on a alpha is not that easy). When time permits
I planned to have a closer look (to see if degenerated hexas can be
used; how to handle two meshes next to each other but without any
grid-connection but physically one domain etc).

Sorry not being able to help you, but when you know how to do it there
is at least one person who is interested!
