My hardvare is: video: NVidia Riva Vanta-LT with 8 Mb memory. cpu: celeron-266mhz, no cache memory: 128Mb I"ve just installed Mesa-3.4.1 and latest NVIDIA_kernel & NVIDIA_GLX for hardware acceleration. It works almost fine. It fails to do hardware acceleration when doing Volume Rendering. I try to run VolumeRenderingSimple.net and software rendering renders the picture corretly. But when i switch to hardware rendering mode picture looks like a box. Opaque at All. But the rest fuctions such as Perspective, Rotation works fine. I want to do Perspective volume rendering but in my case it doesn't work neither in Hardware accel. mode nor Software. Questions are: 1. What's wrong with Volume Rendering? Is it because of dx or is it because of my GL libraries or coz of my videocard(just 8 mb of memory) or processor (Celeron266 w/o cache)? 2. What agp module is better for dx: agpgart from linux kernel or nvagp that of NVIDA? 3. Is it possible at all to do hardware volume rendering in dx using such hardware i have? if anybody did please tell me. 4. Is Image module known to do perspective rendering? or it's available in hardware rendering mode? Thanx a lot. All ideas & comments & everything is appreciated! -- br, Anton G.
